JAMAICA, N.Y.—The York College men's volleyball team lost to both Wells College, 3-0 (25-13, 25-13, 25-15), and Alvernia University, 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-17) at home on Saturday afternoon.

Burrell Kirk Murray led York with six kills and a .455 hitting percentage, while adding three total blocks.
Akeem George chipped in five kills, while
Paramvir Singh recorded five digs.
Wells was led by Caden O'Loughlin, who finished with 13 kills and a .611 hitting percentage. Josh Undari had nine kills and a .615 percentage.
York kept it close in the early parts of each set, but Wells would prove to be too much for the Cardinals, as they began to pull away in midway through each set.
Alvernia Recap
York was more competitive in the match versus Alvernia but still came out on the losing end. The Cardinals were knotted up at 14-14 in the opening set, only to see the Crusaders score the next four to go up 18-14. After the two teams exchanged points, Alvernia closed the set with six straight points.
In the second set, York trailed 6-4 and once again saw Alvernia go on a big run, this time scoring eight straight to go up 14-4. They would cruise to a 2-0 set lead from there.
In the final set, York again kept it close until a 9-0 Alvernia run took a 14-12 deficit and extended it to 23-12.
The Cardinals were once again led by Murray, who had a team-high seven kills. Singh finished with six digs. Alvernia's Anthony Dadson was dominant all game, finishing with 11 kills and a .556 hitting percentage.
York is now 0-6 on the season. Alvernia and Wells each defeated John Jay College in the other set of matches. Alvernia's record stands at 5-1, while Wells is 4-7.
The Cardinals have a quick turnaround, as they host Yeshiva University tomorrow at 12 p.m.
