BROOKLYN, NY-- The York College men's soccer team was forced to play most of the game down a man and fell by a score of 5-0 against Lehman on Wednesday night.

In just the 4th minute of play, the Cardinals were forced to play a man down. Goalkeeper,
Nigel Sampson touched the ball with his hands outside the box, which led to a red card. This forced
Vladimir Pavlovic to fill the void in net for the remainder of the game.

York held their own in the first half, despite playing a man down for the majority of the time. York nearly matched Lehman's shot total in the first half and the game was played evenly throughout the first half of play. The game went into halftime scoreless.

The 56
th minute of play was when the Lightning started to pull away from the Cardinals. A nice through ball from Shevante Scott connected with Salh Alzubidi, who made no mistake capitalizing on one of his two goals in the contest. Alzubidi followed with his second goal of the match, on a header in the 62nd minute. Lehman then tacked on three more second-half goals to put the match well out of reach. Â
The Cardinals struggled to get much offense generated with a man down in the second half, only registering one shot.

The Cardinals now hold a 1-9, 0-4 CUNYAC record on the season. Their next game is this Saturday, October 7
th at 3:00 pm at Randall's Island when they face Hunter College in a conference match.Â
