York fell in the first set 25-10 after giving Hunter (12-9, 6-0 CUNYAC) a strong, early advantage, allowing them to go up 12-1. Despite the early run, the Cardinals would keep the Hawks in check the rest of the way, scoring nine times.
In the second set, the Cardinals were efficient in breaking up the Hawk's rallies, however consistent errors by York and Hunter's late breakaway sealed the match, 25-11.
In the third, the Cardinals were able to keep Hunter close to start, at one point tying the score 8-8. Again, errors would plague York as they allowed Hunter to pull away for a 25-10 set victory, and a 3-0 match victory.

City College of New York Recap
Errors cost York the first set of the match, as the Cardinals recorded ten errors compared to the Beaver's five, and managed only a -0.107 hitting percentage, ultimately costing them the set, 25-19.
The Cardinals dropped the second set after nearly staging a stellar comeback. After early leads by York, City College (7-8, 3-4 CUNYAC), would take a set-high 18-10 lead that the Cardinals would trim away at, bringing it as close 23-22. However, the Beavers were able to hold on and take the set, 25-22.
York College took an early lead to start the third set. However, the Beavers were able to rally to eventually take a lead they would not relinquish, taking the set 25-16 and the match 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-16).

Despite the losses, York had a successful day in another area, as they helped to raise money for breast cancer awareness after donating all proceeds from their concession to the American Cancer Society.
With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 2-16 (1-6 CUNYAC). Their next match will be on October 11 at 7:00 pm against Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT.
