JAMAICA, N.Y.—Despite winning several events, the York College men's and women's swimming teams each fell to Lehman College in their final home meet of the season, Tuesday night. The men fell 102-72, and the women were defeated 109-77.
Leading the way for York was
John Castillo. He won the 50-meter freestyle in a time of 29.26 and also took home first in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:18.78). He also led the 200-meter medley relay team of Lenard San Miguel,
Justice McCain and Stefano Archangel to victory with a time of 2:33. 39.
For the women,
Perla Rosario was the winner of the 800-meter freestyle with a time of 13.48.95. Rosario also anchored the leg of the winning 200-meter freestyle relay, which included Romea Noel,
Kerry-Ann Bailey amd
Alexandra Castro (2:19.94).
Bailey was also a winner in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:16.73.
With the loss the women are 1-8, 0-5 CUNYAC and the men are 1-6, 0-3 CUNYAC. The Lehman men are 5-3, 2-1 CUNYAC and the women are 5-5, 2-3 CUNYAC. York will return to action this Thursday to compete at Queens College beginning at 6 p.m.
