Men’s & Women’s Swimming Edged by Lehman

BRONX, N.Y.— The York College men's and women's swimming teams performed well but came up a bit short against Lehman College on Tuesday night.  The men lost 82-64, while the women were defeated, 100-90.
 
Leading the way for York was Briggiti Cruz, who had another impressive outing, as she won both the 200-yard individual medley in 2:42.34 and the 100-yard backstroke in 1:11.85.
 
In the 1000-yard freestyle, Marissa Buchanan was a two-time winner.  She touched the wall first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 14:26.71 and the 500-yard freestyle in 6:59.43.
 
For the men, Travis Henry cruised to victory in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:03.84.  He beat out his closest competitor by nearly 20 seconds.  Justice McCain won as well, posting a victory in the 1000-yard freestyle (14:20.73).  McCain and Henry also teamed up with Alfred Clark and Raymond Castillo to win the men's 200-yard medley relay in 1:48.58.
 
York will close out the regular season on Wednesday with a double dual meet against USMMA and Old Westbury.
