Swimming Falls to CSI Despite Impressive Effort from Shamburger

RESULTS

JAMAICA, N.Y— The York College men's and women's swimming teams came up short against the College of Staten Island on Friday, despite a pair of victories from women's swimmer Sandra Shamburger. The women lost 118-45, while the men were defeated 105-52.

Shamburger won the 100-freestyle in 1:08.93 and the 200-freestyle in 2:32.77 but it would not be enough for the ladies, as CSI took first in the other individual events.

The men were led by Chosum Tashi who finished second in both the 100-breaststroke (1:35.05) and the 200-free (2:13.59).  Samuel Fagbamigbe placed second in the 100-free (1:38.95)

The women will return to action on Tuesday, January 8 against Hunter College at 6:00 p.m. The men will be idle until January 22nd when they visit Lehman College at 6:00 p.m.
