Seniors Honored as Swimming Falls to Lehman in Regular-Season Finale

JAMAICA, N.Y— York College seniors
Averie Mohammed and
Kyle Gomes were honored in the Cardinals regular-season finale but the Cardinals squad came up short against Lehman College, losing by scores of 96-73 for the women and 98-51 for the men.
Mohammed picked up one last dual meet victory for her career, winning the 100-freestyle in a time of 1:20.77. Freshman
Alexandra Castro added a win in the 200-freestyle (3:15.40) and junior
Jennifer Castillo won the 100-backstroke in a time of 1:44.24 to round out the first-place finishes for the ladies.
Kyle Gomes was unable to get a win on senior night but did pick up a second-place finish 200-meter individual medley.
York will be idle until February 2, when they go to Lehman College for the first day of the CUNY Athletic Conference Championships
