Women’s Swimming Tops Old Westbury but Falls to CNR; Men Lose to Old Westbury
WESTBURY, NY— The York College women's swimming team defeated Old Westbury, 44-34, but fell to the College of New Rochelle, 49-41, in a tri-match at Old Westbury Tuesday evening. Meanwhile, the men fell to Old Westbury in a dual meet by a score of 75-18.
Yajaira Saavedra had a strong meet for York, winning the 200-yard freestyle, placing second in the 100-yard butterfly, and third in the 500-freestyle. Averie Mohammed was victorious in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle and came in third in the 200-yard individual medley. Ayanna Bennett added a victory in the 100-yard breaststroke.
The men were led by Jonathan Boyce who won the 100-yard freestyle.
The women will return to action on December 2nd when they visit Sarah Lawrence College at 7:30 p.m. The men will be idle until January 4th.
