Swimming Tops Old Westbury, Falls to USMMA on Senior Night
JAMAICA, NY— The York College men's and women's swim teams each defeated Old Westbury but fell to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on “senior night,” Thursday evening. The men defeated Old Westbury 51-20, while the women won 40-14. Against USMMA, the Mariners defeated the York men 62-32, while the York women lost 62-31.
Averie Mohammed won two events for the Lady Cardinals, taking first in both the 50-free and 100-free. #Ayanna Bennett# also took first in the 100-backstroke. On the men's side, Aaron Bennett earned first place in the 50-free and James Kearney was victorious in the 100-breaststroke
Before the meet, seniors Dawn Davis, James Kearney and Roberto Rodriguez were honored. The Cardinals will be idle until the CUNYAC Championships on February 4th.
