Men’s and Women’s Swimming Falls to CSI

STATEN ISLAND, NY— The York College men's and women's swim teams each fell to the College of Staten Island in a CUNY Athletic Conference meet on Friday evening.  The men lost by a score of 138-57, while the women lost 137-91. 

 

Women's Recap

In the relay events, the team of Ayanna Bennett, Sara Pazmino, Averie Mohammed, and Jennifer Castillo took first in the 200-medley relay.  Mohammed also took first place in the 100-freestlye, while Bennett placed first in the 100-backstroke.  Pazmino added second place finishes in both the 200-freestyle and 100-breaststroke. 

 

Men's Recap

James Kearney led the men's team with a pair of first place finishes, winning the 100-breaststroke and 50-freestyle.  Newcomer Aaron Bennett added a second place finish in the 100-freestyle and Johnathon Boyce was second in the 100-breaststroke

 

With the loss the men drop to 1-4 and 0-2 in the CUNYAC.  The women fall to 2-6, 0-3 in the CUNYAC.  Both teams will return to action next Tuesday when they host Lehman at 7:00 p.m.
