Freshman Marissa Buchanan’s November was superb, as she led the York College women’s swim team by winning four different events in four meets. During a meet against CUNYAC opponent Baruch, Buchanan won the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:23.12.

Buchanan’s best night of the month came in a meet against CUNYAC foe Brooklyn College on November 24th, when she won two events. The first event she took was the 800-meter freestyle, where she finished with a time of 13:09.31, 52 seconds better than the next closest competitor. She also took the victory in the 100-meter backstroke, finishing with a time of 1:23.70. Buchanan will have a month of rest as she and the rest of the York women’s swim team will be back in action on January 8th.Â
