Anthony Reyes just wrapped up his third season as head coach. In the 2023 season, Reyes developed volleyball newcomers Ahmed Algendy, Marvin Mondesir, Stanley Sanchez, and Glenver Stuart into solid contributors. With the return of David Heyliger, Jr. and the addition of Alexis Ramirez, the squad garnered three wins in the 2024 campaign. Reyes notched his first career triumph (19-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-18) at Medgar Evers College on March 7, 2024. Adding freshman sensation Sebastian Gomez to the fold in 2025, the squad claimed seven victories and returned to postseason action for the first time since 2016. With Reyes' tutelage, Heyliger, Jr and Gomez each have received four CUNYAC weekly honors. Reyes has also seen Algendy and Sanchez be honored as members of the CUNYAC Sportsmanship Team in consecutive seasons. For the team's efforts in 2025, he garnered the York College Coach of the Year and the squad claimed the York College Team of the Year at the annual year end awards banquet.

As a member of City College of New York's men’s volleyball team from 2012-15, Reyes totaled 1664 assists points, 571 kills, 64 aces and 42 blocks in 69-career matches. Reyes also served as team captain during the 2015 season. As a senior, Reyes captured the NCAA Statistical Champion for Points per Set (4.96) and Kills per Set (4.45). Reyes totaled a CUNYAC-leading 506 points and 454 kills while scooping 292 digs (2.86 p/set) on his way to collecting 2015 CUNYAC First-Team All-Star honors along with the CUNYAC Sportsmanship Award. Off the court, Reyes served as Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) treasurer as a senior and graduated CCNY in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Reyes also collected department laurels at CCNY that included Scholar-Athlete Award (2012, 2013, Best Breakthrough Athlete (2015) Men’s Volleyball MVP (2015), Men’s Volleyball Most Improved Player (2013), and Men’s Volleyball Coaches Award (2014).
Following his playing career, Reyes began his coaching exploits in August 2015 as a volunteer assistant coach at CCNY for the men’s and women’s volleyball teams. He held other coaching positions while at CCNY, being an assistant women’s volleyball coach for Hostos Community College, before taking charge of the Brearley School’s volleyball program for the 2015 season. After his season with CCNY, Reyes became the head coach for the International Volleyball Club (IVC) 15-17-year-old age groups in September 2016, holding that position until 2021.
In 2022, Reyes joined the Mercy College women’s volleyball team as an assistant coach, contributing to the development of five East Coast Conference (ECC) All-Conference selections and four College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honorees.
Hailing from the Ozone Park section of Queens, Reyes attended Richmond Hill High School, where he graduated in 2011.
Since 2016, Reyes has built a career as an electrical engineer.
