Adil Manji ‘20 returns to York College to serve as assistant men’s volleyball coach ahead of the 2023 season. Manji, who graduated with a degree from York in physical education in 2020, contributed to the men’s volleyball program from 2015-18.
“It feels great coming back to where volleyball started for me. It is a full circle.” said Manji
In his four years at York, Manji played in 87 matches and set career-highs as a senior captain in points, assists, and aces. Manji also threw javelin during the 2016 outdoor track & field season in his lone stint with the program.
Manji also excelled as a Cardinal in the classroom, being named to the Dean’s List five times. During this time at York, Manji also was a member of the Filipino Club and NYC Men’s Teach Program.
From 2015-16, Manji broke into coaching with a role as assistant girls volleyball coach at Forest Hills High School. Since 2022, Manji has served as head boys and girls volleyball coach at Kew-Forest School.
In 2020, Manji was a student teacher at Louis Armstrong MS/IS 227.
As a graduate of William C. Bryant High School, Manji was raised in the Elmhurst section of Queens.
