JAMAICA, NY--- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's soccer opened its seven-match CUNYAC slate on Thursday afternoon at the York College Outdoor Athletic Complex, dropping a 3-0 decision to the visiting Medgar Evers College Cougars (4-0-1, 1-0-0 CUNYAC). The Cougars built a two-goal cushion by halftime and maintained control through the final whistle to secure the conference opening victory.

First-Half Breakdown
  • York netminder Alexander Cruz (1-2-0) was tested early at the 3:02 mark, turning away Mouhammadou Diallo's attempt on target for the first of his four first-half saves.
  • After firing eight shots, Medgar Evers broke the ice at 33:34 when Kevin Blackstock Jr. scored on a feed from Diallo to notch what stood as the game-winning goal.
