www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's soccer closed out a two-match series Wednesday afternoon against the Medgar Evers College Cougars (5-0-1), facing pressure throughout in a 7-0 non-conference setback from York College Outdoor Athletic Complex.
First-Half Breakdown
- Mariko Diarisso put the Cougars in front at the 11:16 mark after some nice combination play by Kevin Blackstock Jr. and Aljae Douglas.
- The Cardinals generated two efforts at goal from 25:04-26:13, as Christopher Garcia and Derick Aboagye-Frimpong saw their shots by Medgar Evers netminder Vendel Joseph (1-0).
- The Cougars doubled their advantage four minutes before the interval, with Mamadou Seye slotting home a pass from Mouhammadou Diallo.
Second-Half Breakdown
- Shammar Edwards made it 3-0 in the 53rd minute from the penalty spot.
- Diallo turned from provider to goalscorer at the 71:38 mark, pushing the scoreline to 4-0.
- Edwards completed his brace in the 76th minute following a free kick.
- Medgar Evers netted two additional goals in the following 7:24 to round off the 7-0 result.
