www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's volleyball returned to action Saturday with a tri-match against the New Jersey City Gothic Knights (12-5, 5-0 CUNYAC) and the City College of New York Beavers (6-7) from the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center in Jersey City, New Jersey. The Cardinals dropped a three-set CUNYAC affair to New Jersey City (25-12, 25-10, 25-8) before falling in a three-set non-conference matchup to the Beavers (25-14, 25-15, 25-15).
Match 1:New Jersey City 3, York 0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-8)
First Set Breakdown
- New Jersey City controlled play early to take a swift 11-2 lead.
- Consecutive points from the Cardinals trimmed the deficit to seven (11-4), the closest they got the rest of the frame.
- The Gothic Knights responded with a 6-1 burst to go up by 12 (17-5).
- York managed to make it a 10-point margin on two occasions, but did not make a further dent in the 25-12 result.
