www.YORKATHLETICS.com) In a matchup of the top two teams in the CUNYAC, York College men's basketball fell behind early and could not recover Friday as the Lehman College Lightning (16-6, 11-0 CUNYAC) claimed a 98-63 CUNYAC win inside York College Gymnasium.
How it Happened
- The Cardinals struck first as a free throw by Joshua Jackman put York on the board for an early lead.
- Both teams traded baskets, with Jackman and Gozie Chinegwundoh hitting three-pointers to knot the game at seven.
- Lehman then went on a 24–4 scoring spree to take a 31–11 advantage with 8:35 remaining in the half.
- York answered by scoring 10 of the next 16 points to cut the deficit to 16 (37–21) with 4:52 left.
- The Lightning closed out the first half with an 18–11 run over the final 4:38 to carry a 55–32 lead into the break.
- After back-to-back Lehman layups, York countered with an 8-0 spurt keyed by a pair of Chinegwundoh jumpers.
- The Lightning responded with a 10-2 run to maintain the margin and later went on a 34-10 surge during a stretch of 10:45 to build a 43-point cushion (93-50) with 4:44 remaining.

For Hunter
- Zay Marte dropped a game-high 24 points (9-of-17, 2-of-5 3FG, 4-of-5 FT).
- Manny Barkor followed with 21 points (9-of-13 FG) in only 15 minutes.
- Kofi Mends totaled 16 points (5-of-8, 3-of-4 3FG, 3-of-3 FT), four rebounds, and four assists.
- Ricardo Dixon recorded 13 points (6-of-10 FG), six boards, and two blocks.
- Amar Ndiaye produced a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 16 rebounds.
- Kesean Tracey provided a game-best eight assists.

York shot 41.7 percent (25-of-60) from the field, canned five three pointers, and swished home eight free throws. Lehman connected on 47 percent (39-of-83) of its field goals, nailed six triples, and shot 60.9 percent (14-of-23) from the floor. The Lightning's size was the story of the matchup, outrebounding the Cardinals 57-28 and controlling the paint points battle (64-20). Additionally, Lehman produced 24 points off turnovers, 23 second-chance points, and 23 fast-break points.
