www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's soccer kicked off its 2025 season at home against the Purchase College Panthers (2-0). After a competitive first half, the Panthers surged ahead in the second frame, securing a 4-0 win at York College Outdoor Athletic Complex.
First-Half Breakdown
Parker Lewis recorded the game's first shot on goal in the 24th minute, with his header testing York netminder
George Molina. Molina went on to make three more stops over the next fifteen minutes to keep the game scoreless. The Panthers had a chance to break the deadlock in the 42nd minute, but Martin Nikprelaj's penalty kick rattled off the crossbar. Threatening with a free kick, Outman Ait Sidi Ahmed turned home a great ball from Felix Robinson to give Purchase a 1-0 edge 57 seconds before halftime.
Second-Half Breakdown
The Panthers doubled the score at the 61:18 mark of the contest as Terry Bruno scored from a corner kick. Sebastian Ford made it 3-0 in the 71st minute following a diving header. Christos Argyros capped off the 4-0 scoreline six minutes from the final whistle.
Inside the Box Score
Purchase controlled proceedings with an advantage in shots (25-2), shots on target (9-0), and corners (9-0). In between the sticks, Molina (0-1) totaled five saves, while Panther goalie Luca Valeriano (1-0) notched a clean sheet.
