www.YORKATHLETICS.com) Advancing to the postseason for the first time since 2016, York College men's volleyball's run at the CUNYAC Championship ended Tuesday in a first-round road matchup, falling in straight sets (25-22, 25-10, 25-9) to the third-seeded Brooklyn College Bulldogs (14-14) at the West Quad Center Gymnasium. The win moves Brooklyn into Thursday's semifinal-round battle with No. 2 Hunter College. Â

First Set Breakdown
- A kill from Iteoluwakiisi Adegboye gave York a 7-6 start.
- The Cardinals maintained their one-point advantage (10-9) following a smackdown from Ian McIntosh.
- Aaron Siu's spike capped off an 8-1 blitz from Brooklyn to lead 17-11.Â
- Trailing 19-12, a pair of Adegboye kill's sparked a 7-2 stretch to trim the deficit to two (21-19).Â
- Two smackdowns from Joaquin Calderon pushed the Bulldogs' edge to five (24-19).
- York once again made it a two-point affair (24-22) before Adegboye's service error sealed a 25-22 scoreline.
Second Set Breakdown
- After the Cardinals scored the first two points of the stanza, Brooklyn countered with a 9-0 spurt to lead by seven (9-2).
- Sebastian Gomez's kill made it a five-point margin (10-5).
- Ahead 12-6, the Bulldogs utilized an 8-1 burst culminating by Armand Kaloshi's kill to increase their advantage to 13 (20-7).
- Siu's ace closed out a 25-10 decision.
Third Set Breakdown
- Both teams traded leads before Brooklyn rattled off six-straight points to grab hold of an 8-3 margin. Â
- After Algendy spiked down a kill to answer for York, Brooklyn used a 12-0 spurt to go up 20-4.Â
- The Cardinals played even for the final 10 points as Brooklyn clinched the win.Â
Leading the Cardinals
- Gomez produced a team-high six kills and contributed on the back line with six digs.
- Adegboye added five kills and one ace.
- Vincent Agokei smacked down four kills.
- Algendy tallied a season-high two kills to go along with four digs.
- McIntosh recorded a match-best three block assists.Â
- Sanchez orchestrated the attack with 14 assists and Joseph Lebron led the squad with seven digs.  Â
For Brooklyn
- Siu played a complete game with 14 kills, two block assists and one ace, to go with six digs.Â
- Calderon went for nine kills, three aces and seven digs.
- David Lema's match-high 29 assists directed Brooklyn's offense.
- Dion Csikortos scooped a match-leading nine digs.
Inside the Box Score
York was unable to get in a rhythm, finishing the match attacking at -.013 with 17 kills on 79 swings. By comparison, Brooklyn hit .321, nailing down 39 kills on 78 attempts. Both teams drew even in blocks (4-4), while the Bulldogs owned the edge in points (52-23), aces (9-2), assists (35-16) and digs (41-22).
