FLUSHING, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College's Richard Reyes has been recognized by the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) as a member of the 2024-25 Men's Indoor Track & Field Sportsmanship team. 

Reyes follows Glenver Stuart's Sportsmanship Team selection last campaign and is the seventh Cardinal in as many seasons to receive a CUNYAC Sportsmanship team laurel. This honor is the Bronx native's second track & field award of the indoor campaign, as he earned Track Athlete of the Week Honorable Mention selection in February.

"I take great pride in supporting my teammates and fellow athletes by offering words of encouragement that help them in any way they need. At practice and meets, my focus is on motivating my teammates to push themselves and continue training hard. I also make an effort to help build their confidence. As a team leader, I strive to maintain high morale by consistently practicing good sportsmanship and setting a positive example for others."-Richard Reyes

Competing in all six meets this season, Reyes generated 15 CUNYAC Championship points, including four points each from his results in the mile and 3,000-meter events. Reyes also medaled in the Distance Medley Relay with a second-place finish (11:58.86). The freshman also owns a pair of sixth-place CUNYAC finishes in the mile and 3,000-meter categories.
