www.YORKATHLETICS.com)Â York College men's volleyball completed a wire-to-wire victory Thursday evening, defeating the Medgar Evers College Cougars (0-14, 0-11) in straight sets (25-13, 25-7, 25-7) in a CUNYAC contest from York College Gymnasium.Â
First Set Breakdown
- Four service aces from Stanley Sanchez spearheaded a 7-0 York start.
- Medgar Evers responded with a 4-1 spurt to trim the deficit to four (8-4).
- A trio of smackdowns from Sebastian Gomez extended the Cardinals' advantage to nine (13-4).
- Staying in the set, the Cougars went on a 6-2 burst to make it a five-point margin (15-10).
- Three consecutive spikes by Ian McIntosh made it 19-10.
- Another McIntosh kill finalized a 25-13 result.

- 10 kills and three aces got York off to a 15-1 blitz.

- Higgs and Jose Janvier both contributed two kills. Janvier tallied four digs as well.
