NEW YORK-- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's volleyball closed out their season series Tuesday evening with the Hunter College Hawks (14-9, 8-1 CUNYAC), falling in straight sets (25-12, 25-15, 25-16) in a CUNYAC road matchup from Hunter Sportsplex. 

First Set Breakdown

• Kyle Foley's kill capped off Hunter's 11-4 start.
• Smackdowns from Sebastian Gomez and Iteoluwakiisi Adegboye trimmed York's deficit to five (13-8).
• Ahead 17-10, spikes by Foley, Ahmed Mohamed, and Jon Pflueger pushed the Hawks' margin to 12 (22-10) before closing out a 25-12 stanza.

Second Set Breakdown

• Up by one (5-4), Hunter went on a 9-0 blitz to lead by double-digits (14-4).
• A pair of points by Gomez sparked a 6-3 Cardinal run to make it a seven-point affair (17-10).
• The Hawks once again pushed the advantage to double-digits (20-10) and never relinquished their sword, with Foley's kill capping off a 25-15 result.

Third Set Breakdown

• Spikes from Adegboye and Vincent Agokei helped York claim six of the first 15 points.
• Foley's two aces pushed Hunter's edge to seven (13-6).
• Trading points, Adegboye's ace kept the deficit at seven (19-12).
• Cristosomo Ibarra's smackdown clinched a straight-set victory (25-16). 

Leading the Cardinals

• Gomez led the way with team-highs in kills (8) and aces (2).
• Adegobye notched four kills on nine attacks (.222 percentage) and served up the squad's only other ace.
• Alexis Ramirez totaled three kills and Ahmed Algendy scooped up a team-best three digs.
• Joseph Lebron (8, career-high) and Algendy (5) combined for 13 assists. 

For Hunter

• Mohamed dominated with a match-best 15 kills (.778 percentage), six digs, and three aces. 
• Foley added six kills (.857 rate), three aces, and the contest's lone solo block.
• Ibarra, Pflueger, and Jon Domingo each chipped in with four kills.
• Brandon Yeh distributed 21 assists and Felipe Delgado contributed nine more to Hunter's cause.

Hunter recorded 39 kills on 63 total attacks (.525 percentage), while York downed 16 kills on 48 swings. The Hawks also tallied more aces (11-3), total blocks (4-0), digs (16-13), and assists (34-15).
