www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's volleyball started strong and produced a season-best 64 points Tuesday in their home opener, but were unable to hold off the Pratt Institute Cannoneers (1-4) in a 3-1 (17-25, 25-23, 29-27, 27-25) non-conference setback inside York College Gymnasium.

First Set Breakdown
- York got out to a 7-4 start.
- Trading points, the Cardinals held onto a 14-12 advantage before a pair of aces by Ian McIntosh helped extend the margin to six (18-12).
- Ahead 19-15, kills by Alexis Ramirez, Vincent Agokei, and Sebastian Gomez closed out a 25-17 opening-set victory for York.
Second Set Breakdown
- A smackdown from Iteoluwakiisi Adegboye punctuated a 5-1 beginning for York.
- Hallot Wallace's kill closed out a 7-1 burst for Pratt to lead 8-6.
- An extended 8-4 spurt got the Cardinals back in front 14-12.
- The next 16 points featured four ties and four lead changes as York held onto a 22-20 edge.
- Capped off with Jason Raymond's kill, the Cannoneers responded with a 5-1 scoring spree to even the contest.

- After a back-and-forth start, Adebgoye's kill made it 9-6 across the first 15 points.
- Pratt utilized a 7-1 charge to take a three-point advantage (13-10).
- The Cardinals responded with a 9-2 burst to take a set-high four-point lead (19-15).
- Facing three set points (24-21), the Cannoneers claimed four-consecutive points to go 25-24.
- Alexis Ramirez spiked down a rally to sway the score back in York's direction (27-26).
- Unable to hold on, Pratt went on a 3-0 run to seal a 29-27 scoreline.

- The Cardinals took control over the first 20 points, leading 14-6.
- Kills by Brooks Reid and Max Wang keyed Pratt's 10-2 charge to level the score at 16.
- Both teams traded runs over the next 11 points, with Pratt leading 21-20.
- Gomez's kill saw York with two set points (24-22).
- Roaring back, a trio of kills from Raymond helped the Cannoneers over the line, 27-25.
Leading the Cardinals
- Gomez paced the squad with match-high and career-best 23 points on 19 kills (.250 percentage) and three aces.
- Heyliger, Jr. totaled 14 kills (.156 percentage) and scooped up nine digs.
- Ramirez recorded five kills and nine digs.
- Adebgoye also tallied five kills.
- McIntosh matched Gomez's mark of three aces, and Ahmed Algendy offered defensive persistence with eight digs.
- Sanchez matched his season-high level of 39 assists.
- Agokei served a pair of aces to go along with three blocks (two solo) and two kills.
For Pratt
- Raymond authored 17 kills at a game-best .262 clip.
- Reid added 11 kills and seven digs.
- Wang turned in an all-around performance of nine kills, four aces, four assists, and a game-leading 11 digs.
- Nathan Kim orchestrated the attack with 30 assists and had a defensive presence with nine digs.
Inside the Box Score
York owned the edge in points (64-56), kills (48-39), assists (41-38), and blocks (706), while the Cannoneers recorded more aces (11-9) and digs (44-40). At the net, the Cardinals attacked at a .137 rate as opposed to Pratt's clip of .107.
