BROOKLYN, NY-- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's volleyball continued their CUNYAC slate Thursday evening with a road encounter against the Brooklyn College Bulldogs (5-9, 1-1 CUNYAC), falling in straight sets by the final count of 25-16, 25-17, 25-16 inside West Quad Center Gymnasium.

First Set Breakdown

• Three kills from Aaron Siu sparked a 9-5 Brooklyn start.
• York made it a one-point affair (10-9) following a kill from Sebastian Gomez.
• A 3-0 mini-run got the Bulldogs' lead back to four (13-9).
• Both squads traded the next 12 points, with two Gomez spikes making the score 19-15.
• Jason Lin's ace closed out a 25-16 first-set scoreline.

Second Set Breakdown

• Tied at three, Brooklyn utilized a 6-1 spurt to take a 9-4 edge.
• York trimmed the deficit to three (11-8) with a kill by Alexis Ramirez.
• Ahead 15-11, the Bulldogs took control of the stanza with a 5-0 run, extending their lead to nine (20-11).
• The Cardinals could not close the gap, with Jiaian Flanders' smackdown sealing a 25-17 result.

Third Set Breakdown

• A trio of kills facilitated a 10-4 Brooklyn advantage.
• Three attack errors got York within two (11-9).
• Putting the contest out of reach, kills by the Bulldogs' Armand Kaloshi and Joaquin Calderon extended the margin to seven (18-11).
• Ian McIntosh's ace made it 18-13, but Brooklyn did not let the deficit slip under five, as Lin's ace finalized a 25-16 decision.

Leading the Cardinals 

• Gomez registered a team-leading 10 kills on 25 attacks (.200 percentage).
• David Heyliger, Jr. nailed down five kills and scooped four digs.
• Ramirez (3) and Vincent Agokei combined for five smackdowns.
• Stanley Sanchez tallied team-highs in assists (15) and digs (5)
• McIntosh and Iteoluwakiisi Adegboye each served one of York's two aces in the match.

For Brooklyn

• Siu recorded 10 kills (.600 percentage), three aces, four digs, and a pair of block assists.
• Calderon added 10 spikes (.389 percentage) and two total blocks. 
• Lin contributed in all facets with three kills, a trio of service aces, and four block assists. 
• Armand swatted home seven kills.
• David Lema orchestrated the Bulldog attack with a game-high 29 assists.

Inside the Box Score
York authored 22 kills on a .048 hitting percentage, while the Bulldogs totaled 34 kills on a .371 rate. Additionally, Brooklyn owned the advantage in points (48-24), aces (8-3), total blocks (11-0), digs (20-17), and assists (33-20).
