www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's basketball drilled a season-high 13 shots from 3-point territory on their way to capturing an 84-77 CUNYAC road win over the Hunter College Hawks (5-20, 3-11 CUNYAC) to close out the 2025 season. The Cardinals finished the campaign at 4-19 overall and 2-12 in the league standings under second-year head coach
Clarence Emengo.
In his final collegiate game,
Rohan Singh reached the 1,000-point plateau after netting 20 points. The senior scored 576 points in two campaigns at Queensborough Community College (2021-23) and added another 432 with the Cardinals (2023-25), totaling 1,008 points.
How it Happened
- A 3-pointer by Singh capped off an early 12-4 lead for York.
- Bryan Godette's layup with 12:09 remaining in the first half gave the Cardinals their first double-digit advantage (17-6).
- Trailing 24-13, 3-pointers by Casey Meyers and Enzo Caceres-Roussel sparked a 13-3 burst to trim Hunter's deficit to one (27-26) at the 6:21 mark.
- After trading baskets, the Hawks leveled the score at 37 following a pair of free throws from Casey Meyers.
- Singh's pair of free throws with 42 seconds showing on the clock closed out a 41-37 half for York.
- Triples from Aidony Nivar and Michael Litchfield made it a three-possession game (51-42) with 17:23 left in the contest.
- Brandon Barrett's jumper at 13:42 gave the Cardinals a game-best 13-point lead (60-47).
- York retained a three-possession margin until Donovan Cola's jumper (69-61) with just over eight minutes remaining.
- Behind 79-67, Hunter utilized an 8-0 scoring spree to make the scoreline 79-75 with 1:59 remaining.
- Litchfield responded with a 3-pointer with 50 seconds left to all but seal an 84-77 triumph.
Leading the Cardinals
- Nivar led all scorers with a season-best 24 points (9-of-17 FG, 2-of-2 FT) on 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, to go along with four assists and two steals.
- Singh canned four treys and four free throws to catapult his 20-point effort, dishing out a game-high seven assists as well.
- Litchfield also sank four triples and finished with 14 points (5-of-8 FG, 4-of-6 3FG), five assists and two steals.
- Barrett used 11 points (5-of-11 FG) and 10 rebounds to post his 12th double-double of the season.
- Malakai Clark scored six points and chipped in nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
For Hunter
- Jack Meyers sparked Hunter off the bench with 20 points (7-of-9 FG, 5-of-6 3FG), five assists and two steals.
- Casey Meyers totaled 15 points (5-of-12 FG) and five assists.
- Alioune Mbengue added 12 points (6-of-8 FG) and seven rebounds in just 16 minutes of action.
- Cola went for 10 rebounds, nine points, and five blocks.
Inside the Box Score
York hit on 46.3 percent (31-of-67) of its field goals, shot 48.1 percent (13-of-27) from 3-point range, and 90 percent (9-of-10) from the free-throw line. The Hawks landed 48.4 percent (30-of-62) from the floor, 41.7 percent (10-of-24) from 3-point land, and 58.3 percent (7-of-12) from the line. York outplayed the Hawks in steals (9-7) and assists (28-21), and turned 18 Hunter turnovers into 19 points. Hunter held the edge in rebounds (36-31) and blocks (7-2).
