www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's basketball returned to home hardwood Tuesday evening with a CUNYAC battle against the Brooklyn College Bulldogs (10-13, 5-7 CUNYAC). In a tight contest featuring nine ties and eleven lead changes, Brooklyn emerged victorious 61-56 inside a packed York College Gymnasium crowd.
How it Happened
- Michael Litchfield's layup for York leveled the score at eight with 14:31 remaining in the half.
- Taking command, Gabriel Barker's tip-in capped off Brooklyn's extended 19-7 spurt to lead 25-13.
- The Cardinals overturned the deficit with a 13-0 blitz, with Demitrius Gould converting a three-point play at 3:58 to give the team a 28-27 advantage.
- Both squads traded baskets the remaining minutes, as Litchfield's layup with 0:28 on the clock closed out a 36-34 first-half for York.
- Continuing momentum into the second period, a layup from Brandon Barrett at 15:21 gave the Cardinals a team-high seven-point edge (45-38).
- Brooklyn responded with an 8-0 surge to go up 46-45 with 10:22 on the clock.
