www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's basketball wrapped up non-conference play Monday night with a home matchup against the Yeshiva University Maccabees (1–4), coming up short in a 68-37 non-conference decision inside York College Gymnasium.
How it Happened
- Both teams opened slowly, combining to miss the game's first 11 shots before Yeshiva's Naomi Sigman connected on a 3-pointer at the 2:34 mark to give the Maccabees a 4–0 lead.
- Chamiya Foy put York on the board with a jumper in the paint at 1:29, making it a 15–2 game.
- The Cardinals closed the quarter with a 6–2 stretch, highlighted by four consecutive points from Imani Gibson.
- Trailing 17-6 after the first quarter, York opened the second quarter scoring when Amaniya Aiken converted a floating jumper with six minutes remaining to make it 22-8.Â
- Gibson later found Ceana Adams for a layup with 1:26 left, pulling the Cardinals within 14 before heading into the break trailing by 16 (26-10).
- Arta Gjeloshi got the second half underway with a 3-pointer off a feed from Aiken just six seconds in, cutting York's deficit in half.
- Aiken later connected on a triple at the 8:11 mark as both teams came out strong to open the stanza, making it a 30–16 game.
- After a Gjeloshi free throw pulled York within 13, Yeshiva went on a 10–0 run over 5:17 to extend the lead to 40-17.Â
- Michelle Mancuso sparked York with four points down the stretch, including a 3-pointer with 31 seconds remaining in the quarter.
- Yeshiva opened the fourth with a seven-point run before York answered with eight of the game's next 12 points, highlighted by four from Adams during the push.
- Playing with a double-digit lead for the final 35:06, Yeshiva went up by as many as 31 points following a 14-6 surge in the final 4:49 of action. Â
Leading the Cardinals
- Aiken contributed her first double-double of the season, netting 11 points and gathering 10 rebounds.
- Gibson pulled down a team-best 11 rebounds and chipped in with six points.
- Playing 12 minutes off the bench, Adams netted an efficient six points (3-of-5 FG).
- Foy and Tyla Hooks nabbed team-leading three steals while Gjeloshi and Beautifull Earth each tallied two assists.
 For Yeshiva
- Ilana Schwartz poured in a game-high 19 points (8-of-16 FG, 2-of-2 FT), adding eight rebounds, five steals, and four assists to her stat line.Â
- Fortune Hanan posted a double-double, finishing with 13 points (4-of-8 FG, 5-of-5 FT) and 14 rebounds (six offensive).
- Tali Cohen produced an all-around performance with nine points, six steals, four rebounds, and three blocks.
- Jasmin Maly-Danker generated 10 points off the bench.
Inside the Box Score
York shot 22.8 percent (13-of-57) from the field, 30 percent (3-of-10) from downtown, and 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from the charity stripe. The Maccabees connected on 36.1 percent (26-of-72) of their shots, drained four triples, and shot 54.5 percent (12-of-22) from the free-throw line. Additionally, Yeshiva had the edge in rebounds (50-48), assists (15-11), and steals (25-12). Forcing the Cardinals into 29 turnovers, Yeshiva benefited with 33 points off turnovers and 28 fast-break points.
