www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's volleyball closed out its CUNYAC slate Thursday evening with a road matchup against the City College of New York Beavers (7-17, 3-4 CUNYAC), falling in straight sets (25-13, 25-14, 25-4) inside Nat Holman Gymnasium.
First Set Breakdown
- The Cardinals got off to a 7-3 lead. Jaymie Mateo and Simranjit Kaur combined for three aces during the stretch.
- CCNY responded with eight unanswered points to go up 11-7, fueled by Ivanna Zamora Sanchez's three aces.
- The Beavers extended their edge to five (14-9) following a York attack error.
- Ahead 15-11, a pair of aces from Danuzia Caixeta Palmer and Gia Skenderi pushed the margin to double digits (22-12).
- Rachael Reyes' kill closed out the 25-13 result.

- A service ace from Nila Tom punctuated a 7-2 Beaver beginning.

- Skenderi led all players with nine points (five aces and four kills).
- Caixeta Palmer and Serena Warner each followed with eight points. Caixeta Palmer served a match-best seven aces and distributed 14 assists. Warner swatted three attacks.
- Zamora Sanchez contributed six aces and seven assists.
- Rosalynda Russo scooped up a match-leading 13 digs.
