JAMAICA, NY --- (
www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's soccer completed its home slate Saturday against the Saint Elizabeth University Eagles (3-9), falling 6-0 in a non-conference tilt from York College Outdoor Athletic Complex.
Following the match, the senior class of
Alisha Adams (2022-25),
Emelin Cajamarca (2021-25), and
Gema Guillen (2021-25) were recognized for their contributions to York College with the annual Senior Day Ceremony.
First-Half Breakdown
Stephanie Gonzalez recorded the first shot on goal, as her long-range effort forced a save from Elizabeth Giamboy (3-9) 13:49 into the match. Chelsea Sarmiento grabbed an early lead for Saint Elizabeth 29 seconds later, latching onto a through ball from Katherine Mora. The Eagles doubled their lead at the 30:08 mark after Olivia Picerno found the back of the net. Mora capped off the 3-0 first-half display with a goal of her own in the 39th minute.
Second-Half Breakdown
Looking to get on the scoresheet, shots by Gonzalez and
Stephanie Ramirez tested substitute goalkeeper Mora in the first 15 minutes of the frame. Sarmiento added goals in the 67th and 69th minutes to record her hat trick. Mileyshka Delgado closed out the 6-0 result in the 70th minute.

Offensively, Saint Elizabeth generated more shots (33-3), shots on target (21-3), and corners (10-1). Aminaya Aiken (2-9) returned to goalkeeping duties for the Cardinals, saving 15 shots. Giamboy and Mora combined for three saves in the shutout.
