www.YORKATHLETICS.com)Â York College women's volleyball took the court Thursday evening for the annual Dig Pink match honoring breast cancer awareness, facing the Saint Elizabeth University Eagles (8-12) inside York College Gymnasium. The Cardinals fell in straight sets, 25-13, 25-9, 25-8.
In support of creating awareness for the Sideout Foundation's mission of connecting the sport of volleyball to a meaningful mission: to change the future of cancer care.​
First Set BreakdownÂ
- Consecutive aces by Dadlyna Louis capped off an Eagle 7-1 start.Â
- Three aces from Sienna Volpe gave Saint Elizabeth its first double-digit lead (15-5).Â
- York won the following four points to trim the deficit to six (15-9).
- After a kill by Chmiya Foy made it 21-13, the Eagles claimed four straight points to seal a 25-13 result.
Second Set BreakdownÂ
- Kills by Foy and Lefebvre gave York hope (5-3).
- Ahead 7-4, four aces by Ericka Menaling Trajano buoyed a 10-0 run to give Saint Elizabeth a 17-4 advantage.
- Louis' kill sealed a 25-9 scoreline.
Third Set BreakdownÂ
- Jaymie Mateo's kill leveled the score at one.
- The Eagles responded with a 6-0 run to lead 7-1, followed by a 6-2 stretch to push their edge to 10 (13-3).
- Lefebvre's ace cut the margin to seven (14-7).
- Boosted by a trio of aces from Victoria Compton, Saint Elizabeth went on an 11-1 spurt to close out the 15-8 decision.
Leading the Cardinals
- Lefebvre recorded a team-high 3.5 points (two kills, one ace, one block assist). She also contributed defensively with four digs.
- Plaza (2.5 points), Foy (2.0 points), and Simranjit Kaur (2.0 points) followed behind.
- Jasmine Dias and Samantha Panameno both had a team-best five digs, and Panameno distributed six assists.
For Saint ElizabethÂ
- Volpe totaled a match-leading 13 points (five kills, seven aces, one solo block).
- Louis produced 12.5 points (seven kills, five aces, and one block assist), and Marissa Jean Baptiste spiked down 10 kills.
- Compton (15) and Menaling Trajano (12) orchestrated the attack with 27 kills, and Alyssa Wells chipped in defensively with a match-high eight digs. Serving-wise, Menaling Trajano matched Volpe's seven ace performance.

At the net, York had 44 total attacks, producing nine kills and a -.136 attack percentage. The Eagles managed 31 kills on 54 swings for a .444 rate. Additionally, Saint Elizabeth had the upper hand in assists (28-7), aces (25-3), total blocks (4-2), and digs (19-15).
