www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's soccer opened its 2025 CUNYAC slate Saturday afternoon with a home battle against the Brooklyn College Bulldogs (3-9, 1-0 CUNYAC). Despite a strong first-half effort, the Cardinals were unable to defend home field in a 4-0 setback from York College Outdoor Athletic Complex.
First-Half Breakdown
Shakhzoda Isomidinova came closest for Brooklyn early on, striking the crossbar in the 7th minute. Relentlessly attacking the Cardinal box, the Bulldogs forced goalkeeper
Amaniya Aiken (2-6) into four saves in the next eight minutes of action.
Emma Kolenovic got York off the mark in the shot column with her effort at 19:02. 61 seconds later, Julissa Chino broke the scoring ice for Brooklyn with a long-range effort. Resounding Cardinal defense kept the scoreline at 1-0 at intermission.
Second-Half Breakdown
Gianna DiPronio doubled the Bulldogs' edge 25 seconds into the frame. Isomidinova curling shot made the scoreline 3-0 at the 55:56 mark, as her curling shot found the top corner.
Stephanie Gonzalez almost got her name on the scoresheet 3:09 before the final whistle, as she fired just wide after going on a marauding run from midfield. With the last kick of the match, Isomidinova finalized the 4-0 result for Brooklyn.

In the offensive phase, the Bulldogs held the edge in shots (38-2) and shots on target (17-1). Aiken added to her goalkeeping highlights with 12 important saves, while Sage Bernstein (1-3) Siul Mancebo combined for the shutout.
