www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's basketball produced five double-digit scorers Wednesday evening in a CUNYAC showdown on home court against the John Jay College Bloodhounds (9-4, 2-0 CUNYAC), but were unable to come away with the victory, falling by the final count of 99-93 in overtime from York College Gymnasium. The extra frame marked the first time the two teams had faced each other in overtime since a February 10, 2015, matchup.
How it Happened
- Emmanuel Adenekan's layup gave John Jay a 6-3 edge early on.
- York went on an 11-0 charge to lead 14-6 at the 14:34 mark of the half.
- Isaac Holmes nailed a three-pointer to cut the deficit to one (20-19) with 11:49 remaining in the half.
- The Bloodhounds re-took the lead (27-26) at 8:57 following another Holmes triple.
- Brandon Barrett's layup capped off a mini 6-0 burst for York to go up by five (32-27).
- John Jay buckled down on defense, outscoring the Cardinals 13-4 in the final 5:08 to take a four-point advantage (40-36) at halftime.
- The Cardinals started the second half strong, as a Demitrius Gould three-pointer gave them a 49-45 lead.
- Both teams traded buckets, as a Jeremiah Cardi free throw for the Bloodhounds made it a 57-56 contest.
- Five free throws helped York take a second-half best eight-point edge (64-56) with 10:50 showing on the clock.
- Holmes capped off a 9-0 charge from John Jay to re-take a one-point advantage (65-64) with 8:58 remaining.

- Barrett authored his first-career triple-double, netting 21 points (8-of-14 FG), grabbing 14 rebounds, and dishing out a game-high 10 assists.
- Nivar led all scorers with an efficient 22 points (5-of-11 FG, 4-of-7 3FG, 8-of-9 FT). He also totaled a team-best two steals.
- Litchfield added 20 points (6-of-9 FG, 4-of-5 3FG, 5-of-7 FT) and eight rebounds.
- Bryan Godette produced 13 points (6-of-8 FG) and five rebounds off the bench.
- Gould totaled 10 points (4-of-8 FG, 2-of-3 3FG) and three assists.
For John Jay
- Keyshawn Miller paced John Jay to victory with 21 points, 15 rebounds (seven offensive), six assists, and four steals.
- The Bloodhounds received a boost off the bench from Stewart and Holmes, who went for 20 points (5-of-10 FG, 8-of-11 FT) and 18 points (6-of-14 3FG), respectively.
- Jordan Evelyn netted 12 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists, while TJ Chisolm chipped in 11 points.
Inside the Box Score
The Cardinals had a great shooting display, canning 46.9 percent (30-of-64) of their field goals, 37.5 percent (9-of-24) of their triples, and converted a season-best 24 free throws. John Jay matched York's 37.5 percent (12-of-32) three-point mark while shooting 35.2 percent (31-of-68) from the field and 61 percent (25-of-41) from the charity stripe. The Bloodhounds won the rebound battle (53-40), while York displayed excellent ball movement for a season-high 28 assists. Additionally, John Jay dominated the offensive glass, retrieving 22 missed shots for 31 second-chance points. Overall, there were seven ties and 16 lead changes in this back-and-forth conference battle.
