ALLENTOWN, PA --- (
www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's soccer opened their road slate Wednesday afternoon to face the Cedar Crest College Falcons (2-2-1), falling 4-0 in a non-conference matchup from The FalconPlex in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
First-Half Breakdown
Cedar Crest had five shots in the opening 12 minutes but could not unlock the Cardinal defense. With only their second shot on target, the Falcons took the lead at the 30:19 mark from a goal by Lizzy DeNunzio. Looking to extend its lead, Cedar Crest found the back of the net in the 42nd minute following a MacKayla Reed penalty. Just 1:25 later, DeNunzio scored her second to make it 3-0 Falcons.
Second-Half Breakdown
DeNunzio got her hat trick five minutes into the frame after turning home a pass from Lauren Davis. Cedar Crest had seven more shots in the final stanza but could not increase the 4-0 margin of victory.
