York College returns to the court Tuesday (Mar. 19) against Hunter College in a CUNYAC road meeting

JAMAICA, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's volleyball hosted the Baruch College Bearcats (11-6, 8-0 CUNYAC) Saturday afternoon, dropping a CUNYAC encounter in straight sets (25-11, 25-12, 25-11)
from York College Gymnasium.  

First Set Breakdown
  • Two kills by York's David Heyliger, Jr. leveled the score at 3.
  • Baruch responded with a 7-0 burst to lead 10-3.
  • At 12-7, the Bearcats piled on another 7-0 spurt to take a 19-7 edge.
  • A well placed kill by Glenver Stuart made the score 24-11 prior to Baruch taking the first set.
Second Set Breakdown
  • Leading 4-3, two smack downs from Baruch's Jackson Newcomb spearheaded a 5-0 run to take a six-point (9-3) advantage.
  • Helped by a kill from York's Vincent Agokei, the Cardinals trimmed the deficit to three (10-7).
  • Holding a four-point lead (13-9), the Bearcats closed the stanza on a 12-3 scoring spree to win 25-12.
Third Set Breakdown
  • Three points by Juancarlos Henriquez spurred a 10-2 beginning from the Bearcats.
  • Trading points, Stanley Sanchez authored a kill and an ace for York to make it a 17-8 scoreline.
  • Baruch controlled the final points, claiming a 25-11 set victory.
Leading the Cardinals
  • Heyliger, Jr. led the attack with team-highs in kills (5) and attacks (23) to go along with four digs.
  • Agokei added two smackdowns.
  • Stuart and Sanchez both generated two points, with Sanchez pacing the offense with eight assists.
  • Alex Ramirez tallied 21 swings.
For Baruch
  • Ari Osmanaj produced a match-leading 11.5 points (five kills, four aces, 2.5 blocks).
  • Argjend Osmanaj accumulated 10 kills on 16 total attacks.
  • Henriquez contributed five kills, three aces, and a hat trick of block assists.
  • Newcomb orchestrated 30 assists and chipped in with six digs.
