www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College softball leveled their season record at 2-2 Thursday afternoon after busting out 38 runs on 34 hits and 17 stolen bases while allowing just seven hits to take a non-conference twin bill from the Yeshiva University Maccabees (0-4). The Cardinals claimed a highly-contested 18-15 decision in the opener before completing the sweep with a 20-10 triumph from Padavan-Preller Fields.

Game 1: York 18, Yeshiva 15
- Yeshiva took a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the first on the strength of two hit batters and a pair of wild pitches.
- A commanding bottom of the frame, extra-base hits by Sofia Soric (3-for-5, 3 R, 2 RBI, 2 SB), Emperatriz Cesar (2-of-4, R, RBI), and Lissenny Florentino (2-of-5, 3 RBI, 2 R) boosted York to an 8-1 advantage.
- The Maccabees utilized efficient baserunning to make it 8-3 in the top of the second.
- Consecutive extra-base knocks by Remedios Garcia (4-for-5, 3 R, SB) and Faith Howe (2-for-5, 3 R, 2 RBI) spaced the Cardinals to a 10-3 edge after two frames.
- Three-straight hit batters helped Yeshiva score two runs in the third inning.
- Alexis Leibowitz's fourth-inning single gave the Maccabees their first hit, ultimately plating two runs to trim the deficit to four (11-7).
- Trailing 13-7, a combination of Cardinal miscues paved the way for seven Yeshiva runs to cross the dish.
- Maintaining composure, singles by Florentino and Michelle Mancuso (2-for-5, 2 R, 2 RBI, SB) kickstarted a three-run inning to lead 16-14 heading to the sixth inning.
- Heads up defense by York catcher Andrea Wright helped retain a 16-15 edge into the bottom of the sixth.
- Soric's second triple of the contest spearheaded a two-run rally that extended the advantage to 18-15.
- Threatening with the bases loaded, York hurler Remedios Garcia (W, 1-2: 7 IP, 2 H 11 ER, 7 SO, 16 BB) got Tova Hakakian to bounce out to first to close out an 18-15 scoreline.
- Offensively, the Cardinals had the edge in hits (19-2), extra-base hits (7-0) and stolen bases (7-4) while the Maccabees drew more walks (16-0).
- Leibowitz (L, 0-3; 6 IP, 19 H, 11 ER, 6 SO) was handed Yeshiva's loss.
Game 2: York 20, Yeshiva 10
- Kyra Appel's RBI single in the first inning facilitated a 4-0 beginning for Yeshiva.
- Three-consecutive base knocks from the Cardinals in the bottom of the second frame made it a 4-3 ballgame.
- A 2-run single by Cesar (2-for-4, 2 R, 2 RBI) gave York its first lead of the game (6-4), with the score after three stanzas ultimately being 8-4.
- Run scoring hits by Florentino (1-for-3, 3 R, RBI, 2 BB, SB) and Mancuso (2-for-4, 3 RBI, R, SB) put the Cardinals up 10-4 after four innings.
- Ashley Botnick drove home two Maccabees with a single down the left field line to trim the deficit to four (10-6).
- Three hits and two steals helped push York's advantage to 13-6 in the fifth.
- Yeshiva plated four runs in the top of the sixth to make it a 13-10 scoreline.
- Garcia (2-for-4, 3 RBI, 3 R) cleared the bases with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to propel the Cardinals to a 20-10 victory.
- Garcia (W, 2-2: 6 IP, 5 H, 8 ER, 7 SO, 5 BB) pitched her fourth-straight complete game on the way to punching out seven batters.
- Leibowitz (L, 0-4; 5.2 IP, 15 H, 11 ER, 7 SO, 7 BB) was tagged with Yeshiva's loss.
