www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's volleyball continued their CUNYAC campaign Thursday evening with a road battle against the Brooklyn College Bulldogs (5-7, 1-1 CUNYAC). Progressing throughout the match, the Cardinals ultimately fell in straight sets (25-11, 25-13, 25-14) inside West Quad Center Gymnasium.
First Set Breakdown
- Level at one, three kills by Aaron Siu got the Bulldogs out to a 6-1 edge.
- Five service aces by Siu extended Brooklyn's lead to 13-2.
- York cut it to single-digits (16-7) following a kill and two aces from David Heyliger, Jr.
- Leading 19-10, the Bulldogs closed out the set by winning six of the final seven points.
Second Set Breakdown
- The Cardinals took an early 2-1 lead after two attacking errors.
- Brooklyn went up 6-2 after winning four points from Siu's serve.
- Ahead 6-4, the Bulldogs went on a 9-2 burst to take a controlling 15-6 advantage.
- Kills by Heyliger, Jr. and Glenver Stuart made it an 18-11 scoreline.
- A kill by Aziz Abdusamiev ended the period for Brooklyn at 25-13.
Third Set Breakdown
- Heyliger, Jr.'s smackdown knotted the score at one.
- A pair of aces by David Lema and a couple of points by Abdusamiev helped the Bulldogs go up 11-3.
- Brooklyn took a set-high 13-point lead (22–9) following an 11-6 scoring spree.
- York claimed five out of the next seven points to close the gap to 10 (24-14) before a kill by Yinuo Zhang completed the match.

- Heyliger, Jr. led the way for York with seven kills at a rate of .087 to go with a pair of aces and six digs.
- Ramirez contributed three kills.
- Algendy's 11 assists moved York offensively, while also scooping three digs.
For Brooklyn
- Siu went for eight kills, seven aces and six's digs to steer Brooklyn to victory.
- Lema dished out 25 assists to captain the Bulldogs' offense.
- Jason Lin totaled four kills, two aces and two blocks.

York finished the match hitting at -.037 on 54 attacks while Brooklyn attacked at a .322 rate on 59 swings. Both teams were even at four blocks. The Bulldogs owned the edge in points (48-14), kills (30-12), aces (14-2), assists (28-11), and digs (27-12).
