www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's basketball opened their home schedule Friday evening against the Bryn Athyn College Lions (4-1), falling 69-28 in a non-conference matchup from York College Gymnasium.

How it Happened
- A layup from Alayna Day capped off Beth Athyn's 6-0 start.
- Alicia Gumbs converted on a tough floater to make it a 7-4 score line with 2:16 remaining in the first quarter.
- Smith's lay-in finalized a 15-6 first frame for the Lions.
- Widmaelle Drouillard swished a triple to get the Cardinals on the board in the second period at 15-9.
- Turning up the defense, Bryn Athyn went on a 15-1 burst in the next 8:46 to lead 30-10.
- Drouillard's second three-pointer closed out the half at 30-13.
- York began the second half with a 6-0 run to trim the deficit to 11 (30-19).
- The Lions responded with an 8-0 spurt to extend their advantage to 19 (38-19) with 6:30 showing on the clock.
- Leading 38-21 with 5:03 left in the third stanza, Bryn Athyn closed out the quarter on a 17-2 stretch to go up 55-23 entering the fourth.
- A 14-5 fourth quarter closed out the Lions' 69-28 victory.

- Alexa Osafo-Mensah added eight points and blocked a team-leading two shots.
- Amber Souffrant netted nine points off the bench and gathered a team-best six rebounds.

The Cardinals shot 28.2 percent (11-of-39) from the floor and 30.8 percent (4-of-13) from downtown. Bryn Athyn shot 36.3 percent (29-of-80) from the field and 31.8 percent (7-of-22) from beyond the arc. Additionally, the Lions won the battle in rebounds (36-29), assists (19-5), and steals (18-5). Bryn Athyn also recorded 17 fast break points and 36 points off turnovers.
