@yorkcardinals Men’s Soccer continues CUNYAC slate at Brooklyn

York College closes out its CUNYAC campaign Tuesday (Oct. 22) on home field with a Senior Day showdown against Medgar Evers College

BROOKLYN, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's soccer took the pitch Saturday afternoon against the Brooklyn College Bulldogs (4-9-1, 3-2-1 CUNYAC), dropping a 7-0 CUNYAC road decision from Brooklyn College Field.

First-Half Breakdown
Yasin Elsammak's goal in the 6th minute gave Brooklyn an early 1-0 lead. York goalkeeper George Molina (1-8) saved six shots in the following 18:19 before Benedick Augustin doubled the Bulldogs' advantage in the 24th minute. Stanley Sanchez and Ernest Bawilliam totaled two shots on goal for the Cardinals in the final 21 minutes but failed to find the back of the net.

Second-Half Breakdown
With the York defense keeping Brooklyn without a shot on target in the first 13 minutes, George Koufos broke through at the 58:44 mark to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 edge. Augustin tallied a second goal less than four minutes later to make the scoreline 4-0. Emir Imamberdiev added a fifth goal for the Bulldogs in the 66th minute. Adan Khodorkovsky and Mohammed Alghanimi got their names on the scoresheet to seal a 7-0 result. 

Inside the Box Score
Brooklyn outplayed the Cardinals in shots (33-7), shots on goal (13-3), and corners (6-3). In net, Molina stopped six shots, while Hardy Bakry (2-3-1) and Juan Carlos Solis recorded the clean sheet for the Bulldogs.
