JAMAICA, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's tennis closed out their CUNYAC slate Friday afternoon against the Brooklyn College Bulldogs (1-8, 1-3 CUNYAC), claiming two points in a competitive 7-2 defeat from York College Courts. 

Before the start of the match, York's four-member Women's Tennis Senior Class consisting of Dawa Bhote (2023-24), Emperatriz Cesar (2019, 2021-24), Seunga Jeong (2023-24), and Maryam Khan (2022-24) were recognized for their dedication to York Athletics with the annual Senior Day Ceremony.
 
In doubles, the duo of Khan and Jeong overcame Brooklyn's pairing of Nora Zhu and Sashar Hussein with an 8-3 triumph on the No. 3 court. This was Khan's fifth-career victory with the Cardinals.  Cesar and Julia Wyman fell in a tough tiebreaker on the No. 1 court, and the duo of Bhote and Franeidy Mauricio were edged 8-6 on the No. 2 level. 

In singles play, Cesar outlasted Medina Kuc to claim victory on court No. 1 by the final count of 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8). The singles victory was the third of Cesar's career.  Khan pushed at No. 4 singles, winning 6-3 in the second set before Sophia Kebadze won the 10-6 tiebreaker.  Bhote, Marucio and Wyman all claimed at least one game in their respective singles matches.
