www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's volleyball returned home Thursday evening for a non-conference encounter against the Rosemont College Ravens (2-15), falling in straight sets (25-23, 25-18, 25-9) inside York College Gymnasium.

First Set Breakdown
- After a back-and-forth opening, both squads were knotted at nine after 18 points.
- Taking command, Rosemont utilized an 11-2 burst to lead 20-11.
- Roaring back, helped by a pair of kills from Jachimma Onwuamaegbu and a couple of aces by Madison Plaza, the Cardinals trimmed the deficit to one (22-21).
- Clinging to a 24-23 advantage, the Ravens closed out the stanza via a kill by Fiona Hyland.
Second Set Breakdown
- A pair of smackdowns by Maritza Ortega Ramirez helped York to an early 4-1 edge.
- Trailing 7-5, Rosemont scored five unanswered points to go up 10-7.
- The Cardinals responded with a 4-0 charge to lead 11-10.
- A service ace from York's Jasmine Dias gave confidence to the squad with a two-point advantage (15-13).
- Buoyed by Pearl Smith's trio of aces, the Ravens went on a 7-0 outburst to claim a five-point scoring margin (20-15).
- Rosemont controlled the rest of the stanza to a 25-18 result.
Third Set Breakdown
- Kills by Onwuamaegbu and Jasmine Vega got the Cardinals to within one (5-4).
- Putting the match out of reach, the Ravens blitzed York by scoring 16 of the following 17 points to lead 21-5.
- Onwuamaegbu and Vega's smackdowns gave the Cardinals hope before Rosemont closed out the period at 25-9.
Leading the Cardinals
- Onwuamaegbu paced the team with career-bests in points (7), kills (6) and total attacks (20).
- Plaza and Simranjit Kaur both served two aces.
- Ortega Ramirez tacked on three kills and a team-leading 13 digs.
- Vega scooped up 11 digs, and Samantha Panameno tallied a York-best nine assists.
For Rosemont
- Shenan Jackson had a match-high nine points (five kills, four aces) to go along with double-digit digs (11).
- Both Smith and Maria Harrison (six kills and two aces) notched eight points.
- Hyland smacked down six kills and orchestrated the offense with 18 assists.
- Jana Ehnot controlled the defensive effort with 15 digs.
Inside the Box Score
York hit -.079 on a season-high 101 attacks, while Rosemont attacked at a rate of .127 on 102 swings. The Ravens also claimed the edge in points (46-23), kills (29-15), (15-6), and assists (24-13).
