FLUSHING, NY --- (
www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's tennis is set to return to CUNYAC Championship play Thursday afternoon for the first time since 2016. The sixth-seeded Cardinals will take on the No. 3 Hunter College Hawks at 3 p.m. from York College Courts.
Featuring a roster of all newcomers, the Cardinals claimed 10 games in eight matches this season, surpassing their 2019 mark of five.
In singles play,
Abubakar Khamis triumphed on three occasions,
Firdaus Abdulai generated two wins on the No. 6 court, and
Sangay Yoezer and
Shavar Rowe have a win on the No. 3 court and No. 4 court, respectively.
Doubles-wise, the combo of Rowe and
Abimael Deliska have produced three victories in the No. 3 position.
The winner of Thursday's showdown will advance to the semifinal round Sunday (Apr. 23) against the No. 2 seeded Brooklyn College at 1 p.m. from Roosevelt Courts.
