www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's volleyball battled Thursday night, improving play throughout the match before falling in straight sets (25-9, 25-12, 25-17) to the Lehman College Lightning (9-3, 3-3 CUNYAC) in a CUNYAC showdown from APEX Arena.

How it Happened
- Lehman dominated offensively in the opening set, producing seven aces while scoring on nine of 11 attempts to hit .727
- Two aces by Lehman's Andrew Figueroa closed out the first frame 25-9.
- The Lightning started strong in the second set with a 9-2 advantage.
- Stanley Sanchez's ace culminated a 5-1 burst for York, trimming Lehman's edge to three (10-7).
- Leading 15-11, Lehman won 10 of the final 11 points to win the second stanza.
- Trailing 8-2, the Cardinals won four consecutive points to cut the Lightning's lead to 8-6 in the third set.
- Ahead 15-12, Lehman racked off five straight to essentially put the match out of reach.
- An ace and a kill from Lehman's Christopher Gil helped close out the final period 25-17.
Leading the Cardinals
- Sanchez led the way for York with 6.5 points, totaling two aces, one block assist and four kills on 15 swings to hit .200.
- Jaylen Campbell produced 4.5 points of four kills and a block assist while scooping eight digs.
- Marvin Mondesir chipped in two aces, two kills and four digs.
- Glenver Stuart registered a match-high three block assists.
- Ahmed Algend dished out eight assists to move the Cardinal offense.
- Kalell Tajeddin added one service ace and a block assist.
For Lehman
- Ray Rodriguez spearheaded the victory with a game-highs in digs (11) and kills (7).
- Gil tallied four kills, three aces, and three digs.
- Figueroa chipped in with five aces and five digs.
- Chris Mata and Christian Agudo quarterbacked the offense, recording 11 and seven assists respectively.
Inside the Box Score
- York's attacking steadily improved, hitting .018 after swinging at a rate of -.143 in the first set. The Cardinals owned the edge in blocks (6-2).
- Lehman finished the match hitting .230 and outplayed York in assists (23-10), aces (19-5) and digs (36-20).
