www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's volleyball produced a single-set season-high in points Thursday night in a CUNYAC encounter, but were unable to overcome the Lehman College Lightning (11-13, 5-8 CUNYAC), losing in straight sets (25-9, 25-8, 25-18) on home court from York College Gymnasium.
How it Happened
- Lehman raced out to a 10-2 edge in the first set.
- The team's played even the next few points as a service error from Lehman made the score 16-7.
- A kill by York's Stanley Sanchez off a miraculous rally cut the deficit to 22-9 before the Lightning sealed the set.
- Ahmed Algendy's ferocious ace put the Cardinals up 2-0 in the second frame.
- The Lightning claimed seven consecutive points to lead 7-2.
- Glenver Stuart's instinctive kill trimmed York's deficit to six (11-5).
- Seven unanswered points pushed Lehman's advantage to 18-5, essentially closing out the set.
- Algendy's service error ended the second set with Lehman winning 25-8.
- An enthralling rally ended with York's Stuart poking home a kill in the third stanza, as Lehman had a 4-2 advantage.

- Andrew Figueroa had four kills, three aces, and five digs.
- Jimmy Evans kept alive eight digs.
- Emmanuel Oladuso finished with three aces and two kills.
- Chris Mata tallied five assists.

York hit -.134 for the match and produced a season-high 29 digs. Lehman attacked at a rate of .172 and outplayed the Cardinals in points (40-12), kills (22-8), assists (20-7), aces (15-2) and digs (42-29).
