JAMAICA, NY --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) In the spirit of giving, York College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) recently closed out a successful canned food drive.

For weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, the Cardinals collected food donations that directly benefit the York College Food Pantry, where they will help students in the campus community who are facing food insecurity. 

In total, the efforts yielded 99 non-perishable food items that were collected at all home games from November 8-21.

All the members of SAAC are extremely gracious for all of the support of the campus community and they look forward to future community service efforts.

"I am extremely proud of SAAC's efforts to support their community. The food drive shows their commitment to making a positive difference on campus, even when they are not on the field. Our student-athletes showcased their dedication and collaboration skills to make this happen.
