www.YORKATHLETICS.com)York College women's volleyball returned to action Monday evening against the Yeshiva University Maccabees (0-16), falling a four-set battle (25-23, 22-25, 25-15, 25-23) to close out their home slate inside York College Gymnasium.

First Set Breakdown
- Trailing 3-0, York answered with six-straight points on the serve of Samantha Panameno.
- A 5-2 Yeshiva spurt leveled the score at eight.
- York responded with a 5-1 burst to lead 13-9.
- Clawing back, a kill by Talia Finn cut Yeshiva's deficit to one (15-14).
- Trailing 18-14, the Maccabees utilized a 7-1 charge to obtain a 21-19 edge.
- Going back and forth, a kill by Nivar evened the score at 23 for York.
- Yeshiva claimed the first set at 25-23 following an ace from Moriah Berkovitch.
Second Set Breakdown
- Even at four, the Maccabees went on a 4-1 stretch to take an 8-5 advantage.
- Behind 9-6, a 6-1 run from the Cardinals put them ahead by two (12-10).
- Kills from Elle Ohayon, Charne Lesnoy, and Zoey Botnick helped give Yeshiva an 18-16 lead.
- Demonstrating resolve, the Cardinals closed out the set with a 9-4 spurt to even up the match.
Third Set Breakdown
- Kills by Nivar and Gumbs prevented Yeshiva from breaking away as they led 4-2.
- The Maccabees blitzed York for 13-consecutive points, extending their edge to 15 (17-2).
- The Cardinals attempted a comeback, as a 13-4 charge cut the deficit to six (21-15).
- Yeshiva grabbed the stanza at 25-15 via two kills from Finn.
Third Set Breakdown
- After falling behind 3-1, Yeshiva went on a 14-2 burst to take a 15-5 lead.
- Not giving up, facilitated by Gumbs' serve, the Cardinals secured eight straight to make the score 15-13.
- A seesaw rest of the period, York cut the deficit to one at 22-21, paving the way for a heart throbbing finish.
- Clutch kills by Wright helped keep the Cardinals within one point at 23-22 and 24-23, but Ohayon powered down the ultimate kill to seal the match.
Leading the Cardinals
- Miller paced the Cardinals with seven kills, 21 digs, and 34 total attacks.
- Nivar led York with eight points on six kills, one ace, and a block, to go along with 12 digs.
- Wright posted nine points (tied career-high) and a career-high six blocks while hitting .333.
- Panameno steered the Cardinals offense with a team-high 19 assists to go along with three aces while registering 13 digs to produce her third-career double-double.
- Autar scooped a career-high 21 digs and served two aces.
- Gumbs finished with four kills, two aces and 14 digs.
For Albertus Magnus
- Finn totaled a match-best 12 kills, nine aces, and 55 total attacks, to go along with 24 digs.
- Ohayon added 11 kills, five aces, and a match-high 34 digs.
- Charne Lesnoy smacked down 9 kills.
- Zoey Botnick tallied four kills, two aces, and quarterbacked her team with 33 assists.
Inside the Box Score
The Cardinals produced a season-high 104 digs and eight blocks. York attacked at a rate of .006 while the Maccabees hit .059. The Cardinals also dominated in blocks (8-0) while Yeshiva finished with the edge in points (64-39), kills (46-22), aces (18-9), assists (43-20), and digs (115-104).
