www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's volleyball improved across the match Thursday evening against the SUNY Maritime College Privateers (5-9) but could break through, falling (25-9, 25-13, 25-22) from York College Gymnasium.
First Set Breakdown
- Maritime claimed the opening five points.
- Ahead 6-2, the Privateers won the following six points on the serve of Ashley Pavarini.
- York utilized a 6-3 run to cut the deficit to seven (15-8).
- The Privateers closed out the set by taking 10 of the final 11 points.
Second Set Breakdown
- The Cardinals held an early slim advantage of 2-1.
- As both squads traded points, a nicely placed kill by York's Andrea Wright made it 7-5 Maritime.
- Kills by Jessica Mele, Samantha Hart, and Diana Rodrigez gave the Privateers a 10-5 edge.
- Leading 12-9, Maritime went on an 8-1 burst to push the lead to 20-10.

- A block by Hart gave the Privateers a 13-7 advantage.
