@yorkcardinals Men’s Soccer hosts Brooklyn

York College returns to the field Wednesday (Oct. 18) in a CUNYAC road encounter against Medgar Evers College

BROOKLYN --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's soccer faced off Saturday evening against the Brooklyn College Bulldogs (3-9, 3-3 CUNYAC), ultimately falling 9-0 in a CUNYAC home contest from Aviator Field. 

First-Half Breakdown
  • Seif Mokhtar opened the scoring for Brooklyn at the 9:29 mark after slotting home a pass from George Koufos.
  • Ahmed Algendy's posts were then breached by Rayan Vukovic in the 26th minute, giving the Bulldogs a 2-0 edge.
  • Kervin Mondesir had a chance to cut the deficit in half 90 seconds later, but the onrushing Carl-Henry Obeissant denied Mondesir's attempt.
  • Almost immediately after this misfire, Vukovic set up Samuel Salinas to make the score 3-0.
  • Three minutes later, Vukovic teed up Benedick Augustin for Brooklyn's fourth goal.
  • Adan Khodorkovsky completed the first-half rampage with just over a minute left before the interval.
Second-Half Breakdown
  • Khodorkovsky turned provider in the 64th minute as his pass led to a goal from Yassine Hairane.
  • George Molina came close to finding the net for York in the 67th minute, but his free-kick was punched clear by Obeissant.
  • Bradlej Cupi added the Bulldogs' seventh with over 20 minutes left to play.
  • Cupi made it 8-0 at the 71:53 mark after bouncing on a loose ball from a corner.
  • Izzat Khasanov settled the score at 9-0 with less than seven minutes remaining. 
Inside the Box Score
Besides the scoreline, Brooklyn held the advantage in shots (26-4), shots on target (26-2), and corners (8-2). Alegendy (0-5-1) returned to York's goal, recording seven saves, while Obeissant (2-2) turned away two shots for Brooklyn.
