York College women’s soccer plays host Saturday (Oct. 14) to the John Jay College Bloodhounds in a CUNYAC home faceoff

BRONX --- (www.YORKATHLETICS.com)  York College women's soccer began CUNYAC competition Wednesday afternoon, falling to the Lehman College Lightning (3-5-1, 2-0 CUNYAC) by the final count of 3-0 in a road affair from South Field.

First-Half Breakdown
  • Both squads held each other in check, as Barbara Meda recorded Lehman's first shot on target in the 21st minute, while Zaria Neptune tested Lehman's Diallo Ramatoulaye reflexes at the 25:06 mark.
  • The Lightning tallied shots on target in the 40th and 43rd minutes, but York's Naomi Alejandra Rodriguez was equal to them, keeping the scoreline at 0-0. 
Second-Half Breakdown
  • Lehman sprayed balls into the Cardinals' box in the first 14 minutes, forcing Alejandra Rodriguez into two stops before Barbara Meda assisted Lorena Ramirez to break the deadlock.
  • Meda extended Lehman's lead to 2-0 in the 66th minute.
  • The Sophomore recorded her brace 95 seconds later after being put through by Maria Martinez, making the score 3-0.
  • Searching for more, Alejandra Rodriguez swatted away any further goals as the match ended 3-0.
