York College men's volleyball hosted the Wilkes University Colonels (5-6) Tuesday evening for a non-conference matchup, falling 25-11, 25-15, 25-12 inside York College Gymnasium.
David Heyliger, Jr. was the top producer for York, generating 8.5 points on seven kills and three block assists to go along with three digs. Jamie Haskell served York's lone ace and added one kill, three block assists and three digs to his statline. Anthony Nazario Jr. handed out 10 assists to direct the Cardinals' offense. Mambe Koureissi nailed down two kills and tallied a block assist.
After hitting -.278 in the opening set, the Cardinals improved throughout the match to finish the evening hitting -.158 following a collective effort of -.053 in the final stanza. Attacking at a rate of .215 for the match, Wilkes set the tone with a strong first set, hitting .333. The Cardinals held a 4-3 edge in blocks while Wilkes also outplayed York in points (49-17), kills (33-12), aces (13-1), assists (32-11) and digs (22-11).
Noah Tayler paced Wilkes to victory with a match-high 11.5 points on nine kills and two aces. Paul Binner tallied 10 kills while Casey Shipman dished 18 assists. Jacob Mages recorded a match-best four aces.
