www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's basketball returned to their home floor Tuesday evening for the first time since December 11, suffering a 73-70 CUNYAC setback against the Baruch College Bearcats (15-4, 9-0 CUNYAC) inside York College Gymnasium.
How it Happened
- Baruch played with the lead for all 40 minutes of play as the Bearcats jumped out to a quick 12-4 advantage 4:32 in.
- Trailing by 11 (18-7), York got as close as six in the final 9:04 before Baruch made it a 39-23 game at intermission by using an 8-1 run to close out the half.
- Baruch pushed its lead to as many as 20 points (58-38) with 12:34 showing on the second-half clock.
- York chipped away in the final 12:13 to outscore the Bearcats by 17 during that span.
- The Cardinals pulled within two points with 30 seconds remaining on a layup by Shamal Grant Jr. before Emil Purisic sank one of two freebies with 24 seconds left to settle the 73-70 final.
- Donald Hartley Jr. was unable to tie the game in the final seconds as he misfired on an attempt from long distance.

Leading the way for York was
Quran Dublin, who scored 16 of his game-high 21 points (9-of-18 FG) in the second-half and added four assists and one block to his statline.
Devine Chisholm followed with 16 points (5-of-12 FG, 3-of-6 3FG) and three assists.
Mambe Koureissi chipped in 15 points (7-of-12 FG), 12 rebounds, three steals and one block.
Roki Mendoza Familia pulled down 13 rebounds.
For the Bearcats, Purisic contributed 17 points (8-of-14 FG), nine rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals to the win. Michael Richards dropped 15 points (5-of-11 FG), five rebounds and three steals. Jehmehl Fair aided with 13 points, seven rebounds, two steals, one block and one assist.
York converted on 38.6 percent (27-of-70) of their field goals, 20.8 percent (5-of-24) from downtown, and 68.8 percent (11-of-16) from the free-throw line. Baruch hit 44.1 percent (26-of-59) from the field, 33.3 percent (7-of-21) on three-point field goals and 73.7 percent (14-of-19) from the charity stripe. The Cardinals outplayed the Bearcats on the glass, 43-39, scoring 19 second-chance points off 16 offensive boards. Both teams drew even in assists (14-14), while Baruch scored 24 points off 22 Cardinal miscues. Baruch also held the edge in blocks (6-2) and steals (13-9).
